Gantry crane

Gantry crane

Description:

A gantry crane is a type of overhead crane that has special supports located at a distance from each other. This crane is used to lift heavy loads to great heights and move them over long distances. The photo shows a double girder gantry crane with a total lifting capacity of 10t. The upper crane beam has a span of 13.5 meters and two independent hoists, which allow you to quickly expand or reduce the distance along the axis for slinging. Thus, there is no need for a traverse. This method significantly reduces the time of unloading and loading operations.

The crane is equipped with a joystick radio control system. The speed of long travel motors of the main crane along the ground runway is 0-40 meters per minute. The engines are equipped with frequency invertors, which allows to adjust speeds, acceleration and braking dynamics. The speed of long travel motors of the overhead crane along the upper box beam girders is 0-40 meters per minute. This engines also are equipped with frequency invertors, which allows to adjust speeds, acceleration and braking dynamics. The hoists cross travel speed is 0-20 meters per minute. The motors are also equipped with frequency invertors. The hoist has double lifting speed 2/8 meters per minute. Controlled by contactors. The crane was installed in Latvia. Crane weight is 70t.
